Biography

Michael S. Fenster, MD, better known as Chef Dr. Mike, is one of a handful of physicians worldwide to hold both culinary and medical degrees and is the only Interventional Cardiologist and Professional Chef to do so. He is also the only cardiologist with joint academic appointments in both the Medical and Culinary Arts. Through his Culinary Medicine university courses, speaking events, articles, books, personal outreach, and television and other media appearances, Chef Dr. Mike has become the voice of Culinary Medicine. His message empowers people to take control of their health, wellness, and happiness through a positive relationship with food. Chef Dr. Mike offers an inspirational pathway to people all over the globe. By combining his culinary talents with cutting-edge medical expertise and evidence-based insights – particularly regarding the newfound dangers associated with diets based on ultra-processed foods – he forges an approach to healthy living beyond legacy nutrition or fad diets. His practice is built upon re-examining our relationship with food and by extension our relationship with each other, society, and the planet. With his unique set of qualifications, there is no one better equipped to challenge the epidemic of fad nutrition, misinformation, and profiteering.
