Biography

Dr. Ketan K. Mehta, MD (Medicine), completed his post-graduation from Seth G. S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital in 1994 and has been practicing as a Consulting Physician, Cardiopulmonologist, and Diabetologist since 1995. He is attached to leading tertiary care centers including Asian Heart Institute and other reputed hospitals in Mumbai. A distinguished academician, Dr. Mehta is a Postgraduate Teacher (FCPS – Medicine) at the College of Physicians & Surgeons and has served as teaching faculty at K. J. Somaiya Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre. He is Section Editor (Medicine) for the World Journal of Anaemia and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Association of Physicians of India (JAPI). Dr. Mehta has held several key leadership positions in professional bodies, including the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Physicians of India (API), and Indian Society of Electrocardiology (ISE). He has served as President of IMA – Mumbai West Branch and currently holds important organizational and advisory roles at state and national levels. An invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences, he has delivered over 1000 guest lectures and has been actively involved in clinical research, conducting multiple Phase II–IV national and international trials. He has contributed chapters to medical textbooks and “Medicine Update” (API) and has published extensively in indexed journals. Dr. Mehta is the recipient of multiple academic honors, including the Distinguished Service Award by IMA HQ (Doctor’s Day 2023), and has been recognized for his significant contributions to medical education, research, and public health awareness initiatives in cardiometabolic diseases.
