Purpose:
Corneal thinning may increase especially due to
contact lens use. Finding a method to thicken corneal thinning due to contact
lenses or other causes other than corneal transplantation.

Introduction
Self-repair systems in the human body have been
revealed by observations and experiments for many organs and systems. We have
shown that a 30-year-old female patient who applied to our clinic thickened her
own saliva with daily application after iodine replacement to thicken her
thinning cornea.
Method
30-year-old female patient, the corneal thinning value
measured after wearing contact lenses for more than 10 years right eye: 320
micrometers, left eye: 370 micrometer initial measurement mean diameter. Saliva
includes so much EGF1.
By increasing the level of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in the saliva of the patient with iodine treatment, the right eye corneal thickness: 400 micrometers, left eye corneal thickness: 420 micrometers after exposure with his own saliva once a day for one to three mounths. In this treatment application, the person used contact lenses twice for no more than 4 hours.
The average corneal thickness before 4 weeks after Daily saliva touch were 320 to 400 in the treated with saliva to eyes, The treated corneas were significantly thicker than those in the control eyes on 4 weeks replaced iodine 30 microgram/per day rich self-saliva.
Result

eyes on 4-12 weeks oral replacement 30 micrograms/per day with iodine rich
self-saliva.
Artificial corneal stromal layer was observed in the treated eyes with OCT become thickening. Physical examination with biomicroscope revealed that there was no inflammation in the treated corneas.
Conclusion
A
new method easy to apply; effective, cheap and uncomplicated method for corneal
thinning therapy
