Biography

Prof. Sue Chung Chhay, DDS, MAGD earns her:

• Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Baylor College of Dentistry and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from the University of Texas.
• She completed her post-graduate training through the Academy of General Dentistry, where she earned her Fellowship and master's.
• She is a Fellow of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) and the Academy of Advancing Leadership (AAL).
• She completed a residency training in Leadership and Management at New York University with emphasis on Managers as Leaders, Leading Communication Successfully, Leading Employees, Leading for High Performance, Leading Teams, and Leading Yourself and Others in Times of Uncertainty.
• She has practiced as a general dentist for over 20 years and has been in academia for over 10 years.
• She is a published author with an emphasis on Dental Materials and clinical applications of Dental Materials.
• She completed a one-year training in esthetic dentistry, an Advanced Hands-on training through the Center for Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry (CARD) in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Chhay’s research interest focuses on clinical and in vivo studies on the applications of Dental Materials that are relevant for Geriatric patients and medically complex patients. Pertaining to Dental Education, her research interest focuses on communicating effectively in a culturally sensitive manner when treating patients, the impact of digital dentistry on preclinical education, and designing a curriculum that preserves the mental health of first-year students.
