Biography
I am Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Researcher at the “Oasi” Institute for Research on Mental Retardation and Brain Aging (I.R.C.C.S.) in Troina (Italy)[Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization]. After graduation with honours in Medicine, I trained at the School of Neurology and got the international PhD at the University of Catania (Italy). As visiting clinical research Fellow, I further trained at the Department of Neuroscience, Newcastle University (UK). In 2013 I was selected for a Scientific Fellowship promoted by the European Federation of Neurological Societies. From October 2015, I have been teaching Neurology at the “Kore” University of Enna (Italy). I have co-authored more than 80 publications in international refereed Journals and Conferences and serve as Editorial Board member and invited Reviewer of several international Journals. Recently, I got the Master of Science in “Clinical Research” and the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor (procedure for the Italian University Professor position recruiting, based on scientific qualification criteria).
