Professor L.D. Singla, during his academic period of more than 29 years has made outstanding contributions in research, education & extension activities on tropical parasitic diseases by way of their improved diagnosis and control. His research interests are diverse with focus on development of alternative treatment for drug resistant parasitic worms, predictive epidemiology, geographical mapping of parasitic infections as a blueprint for their strategic management and development of specific and sensitive immuno-molecular diagnostic methods. His major contributions include computing dosage regimen of a drug formulation based on diminazene diaceturate by employing kinetic parameters to combat resistance to commercially available trypanocides; establishing potential of levamisole to prevent impairment of blood brain barrier caused by Trypanosoma evansi infection; developing low cost and field implementable multiplex PCR for simultaneous detection of latent m ultiple vector borne haemoprotozoan diseases; real time TaqMan assay as a more sensitive tool for diagnosis of trypanosomosis and developing technology to manage vaccination failure due to immunosuppression caused by T. evansi infection in endemic area. His contributions to animal research are reflected not only by his reputed published work with noteworthy number of citations (2706), h-index (29), i10-index(80) and active participation in a significant number of international scientific events abroad but also by guidance to national and international scholars and editorial work as Chief Editor, Associate chief editor, Academic editor and editorial board member of journals of international repute which has given him a seasoned worldwide view on the intrinsic way of conducting Research.
