How do I submit my article?

Please click “Submit Manuscript” on the journal's homepage and directly access the submission system used by that journal.

Can I submit my manuscript if it contains part of my PhD or academic thesis?

Please click “URF Publishers will consider submissions containing material that has previously formed part of a PhD or other academic thesis including those that have been made publicly available according to the requirements of the institution awarding the qualification.

Can I publish my manuscript open access?

Yes, URF Publishers offers Open Choice (open access articles published in subscription-based journals) and fully open access journals.

Does URF Publishers provide templates and style files for preparing a journal article?

CFor your convenience we have developed templates to help you prepare your manuscript. Information about the preferred format for the individual journals can be found in the journal’s Homepage.

What happens if my paper gets rejected? Any other options?

We are committed to your publishing success. Your manuscript may be rejected by a journal for reasons other than your research’s quality. It may be more suitable for another journal! Let us suggest an alternative journal for resubmitting your manuscript and any reviewer comments

What types of articles will the journal accept?

What is an APC and what are authors paying for?

As costs are involved in every stage of the publication process, from administrating peer review to copy-editing and hosting the final article on dedicated servers, authors are asked to pay an article processing charge (APC) in order for their article to be published open access under a Creative Commons licence.

Where can I find out the price of a journal’s APC?

Can my institution or funder pay the APC on my behalf?

Authors can request that the invoice be sent to their institution or funder if this organisation has agreed to cover the costs of the APC.

Are APC fee waivers available?

APC waivers may be offered to authors publishing in fully OA journals in cases of financial need.

When do I need to confirm that I wish to publish open access via an APC?

Authors submitting to fully open access journals will be asked to confirm at submission that they understand that the journal uses an open access model and that if their article is accepted they must pay an article processing charge. Authors submitting to hybrid journals are given the option to make their articles open access on acceptance.

At what point do I need to pay the APC?

For fully open access journals, the corresponding author will be notified that payment is due upon editorial acceptance of their article.

For hybrid journals, the corresponding author will be asked at editorial acceptance to indicate whether they would like to publish their manuscript as open access. If the open access option is selected, the corresponding author will then be prompted to provide billing information.

We advise prompt payment, as failure to provide payment information or to complete payment may lead to delays in publication.

What is your URF Publsihers refund policy?

URF Publsihers will refund an article processing charge (APC) if an error on our part has resulted in a failure to publish an article under the open access terms selected by the authors.

I recently submitted my manuscript to URF Publsihers; when should I expect to receive a decision?

The average time to first decision of a URF Publishers manuscript is within 29 calendar days.
